As we age, the face naturally loses collagen and elasticity causing the skin to look less refined than it once did. Wrinkle relaxing injections treats the cause of lines by weakening the muscle that causes the skin to wrinkle. Our aim as a clinic is to provide our clients with a less tired and more defined youthful appearance without resorting to a surgical face-lift procedure. The results take between 7-10 days and provide you with the most gradual and natural, visible results.
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections, sometimes referred to as Botulinum toxin have been used for many years to successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. Botox is a brand name of a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. There are also other brand names, such as Azzalure and Bocouture.
How does it work?
Toxin works by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can’t contract, and this makes the wrinkles relax and soften. Toxin is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. These are called dynamic lines. Wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity (static lines) will not respond to toxin.
Who should not receive toxin?
People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological disease should not use toxin. Since toxin doesn’t work for all wrinkles, you should consult with a doctor first.
Am I suitable for treatment?
At your appointment we will take a full medical history to confirm you have no medical contraindications. We may decide not to proceed with treatment on the day to give you time to think about the treatment further.
You may not be suitable for treatment if you have any of the following:
• A neuromuscular transmission disorder such as Myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome.
• Aminoglycoside antibiotics within the last 3 days (Gentamycin, Clindamycin, Tobramycin)
• If you are pregnant (or might be)or are breast feeding.
• If you have a skin infection at the site for treatment.
• If you have had previous adverse, sensitivity reactions to any botulinum toxin.
What does the treatment involve?
Getting toxin takes only a few minutes and doesn’t require anaesthesia.
Your practitioner will mark your face by asking you to move your muscles. The Botox is then injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort.
You will then be given your aftercare advice and a follow up appointment for 2-4 weeks after to record the effectiveness of treatment. Sometimes an additional treatment is required to achieve optimal results.
How long does treatment last?
It will take 2-4 weeks for your treatment to become fully effective. The effects from toxin will last three to six months although movement will start to return from about 8 weeks. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.
What are the side effects of anti-wrinkle injections?
Temporary bruising is the most common side effect of toxin. Headaches, which end in 24 to 48 hours, can happen, but this is rare. A small percentage of patients may develop eyelid drooping. This usually ends within three weeks. Drooping usually happens when the toxin moves around, so don’t rub the treated area for 12 hours after injection or lie down for three to four hours.
Be Prepared
It is advisable to avoid aspirin and non-steroidal medication, vitamin E, gingko biloba and St. John’s Wort for at least 24 hours prior to treatment as these may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. Alcohol may also increase the risk of bruising so please avoid for 24 hours prior to treatment.
If you have been prescribed aspirin for a medical reason, it is best to continue this. If you have a bleeding disorder, or are taking warfarin, discuss this with the nurse prior to receiving toxin.
Make sure you are well hydrated and have eaten that day
After Treatment
• The treatment area may feel sore and or tender for the first 24 hours. Some people describe a tension type headache after the treatment.
• Avoid vigorous exercise or extreme heat for 48 hours after treatment.
• Mineral based make up can be applied immediately after the procedure.
• Should you experience any unpleasant side effects that you are not expecting, or suffer symptoms that concern you, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic and an appointment will be made for you to be seen.

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical and non-invasive treatment performed by injecting tissue-friendly gel into an area, commonly the face, to fill lines and wrinkles and increase volume.
The visible effects of ageing on the face, such as creases, fine lines and wrinkles are brought on by a decrease in the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen in the skin. At Thérapie Clinic we use Juvederm dermal fillers made from stabilised non-animal hyaluronic acid, which closely resembles the hyaluronic acid found naturally in the body. By boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, volume is added or created and the skin is visibly revitalised.
Dermal filler can be used for treatments that focus on the face, specifically the lips, cheeks and the areas around the eyes and mouth.
Dermal fillers are usually used to:
A dermal filler injection procedure will take between 15 and 60 minutes depending on the area being treated and results will be visible almost immediately.
Dermal fillers will last between 6 and 18 months.
The longevity of your fillers will depend on several factors including:
You will notice a reduction in volume around the middle of the expected duration of the filler. We would recommend you get a touch-up at this point to sustain your results for longer.
Yes, dermal fillers are safe as long as they are carried out by trained and certified professionals.

It is completely normal to experience temporary side effects such as redness, bruising and swelling at the injection site after your dermal filler procedure.
During your treatment your doctor will lightly massage the treated area to ensure even distribution and minimise any swelling.
In some cases reactions can occur and will normally arise immediately after the dermal filler procedure. Reactions can include itching, swelling, pain and tenderness. These reactions commonly subside shortly after injection and are usually resolved within a few days of the injection.
Your doctor will go through everything during the consultation stage, but feel free to contact us at any time if you have any further questions about the safety and possible side effects of dermal fillers.
When injected with a dermal filler you may feel some discomfort but the procedure should not be painful.
The Juvederm injections used at Thérapie Clinic contain a small amount of lidocaine, a pain reducing agent to minimise any pain or discomfort felt during the treatment.
It is completely normal for the treated area to be tender for 48 hours after your procedure.

A centrifuge is spun around to extract protein-rich plasma. The platelets are also removed. The sample is then concentrated and called platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The high levels of growth factors in the PRP help the body to heal. Dermatologists began using PRP to promote the growth of collagen. Orthopedics inject PRP to heal joints of the knees, ankles, and elbows.
There are different ways to get the PRP facial. In the first option, the plasma is spread on your face, after which micro-needling across the forehead and cheeks helps the face absorb proteins. Microneedling is a procedure that makes a series of superficial, tiny holes using sterile needles. Both the micro-needling and the PRP stimulate collagen growth.

You may not be a candidate for PRP if you have severe anaemia, low platelet count, abnormal platelet function, active systemic infection, or active cancer may not be eligible. It is not known if blood thinning medication alters the effects of platelet rich plasma.
In your initial consultation we will discuss your desired results with you and advise the number of treatments accordingly.

With 8 Treads
Most thread lifts last 16 weeks or longer, and once the effects wear off, you can schedule another treatment to maintain beautiful, youthful skin.
A study published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) confirms PDO thread lifts do work, stating thread lifts indisputably lift and shape facial soft tissues. Another study published by the NIH indicates this therapy yields around a 90 percent success rate.
When the sutures begin to dissolve, it is likely you will notice the gradual return of sagging features. However, there is evidence to support that collagen is produced in the tissues surrounding the threads, which can lead to a longer lasting effect.
If you are looking for celebrities who have had a thread lift and why it has become so increasingly common it is because Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Gwyneth Paltrow have allegedly had it done (they look beautiful).
Thread correction refers to low-traumatic methods and is considered a relatively painless procedure. However, even a small puncture requires anesthesia. Therefore, for the comfort of patients, doctors use local anesthesia, which involves the introduction of an anesthetic solution into the puncture area and over the contour of the threads implantation. In patients, the implantation does not cause painful sensations, however, anesthesia can cause some discomfort, slight unpleasant sensations at the beginning of the procedure and after the procedure when anesthesia ceases.
Women should also plan the procedure according to their menstrual cycle, because during the first week, many have increased sensitivity – the pain threshold can increase discomfort, even from minimal intervention.
After the procedure, at the termination of anesthesia, patients may experience some normal pain. It is also possible the manifestation of the following reactions: small edema, bruising, asymmetry, unevenness, and skin tightening – which, as a rule, take place within two weeks. To ease the condition during the first two days, it is recommended to apply cold 3-4 times a day for 15 minutes in the area of correction and take analgesics as per doctor’s prescription and drugs that reduce swelling.
The healing process depends largely on skin care during the recovery period, which should necessarily be treated with antiseptic solutions.
During the rehabilitation period, you should also not take hot food and hot drinks during the first three days, exclude for two weeks any physical exertion and heat effects in the modeling area (sauna, solarium, sun exposure), as well as active facial expressions if correction was carried out on the face.

IV Therapy, also known as intravenous therapy, is the administration of delivering nutrients and hydration directly into the bloodstream for immediate absorption and use by the body.
IV Therapy is the fastest way to deliver nutrients throughout the body, because it bypasses the digestive system and goes directly into the organs, resulting in a 90-100% absorption rate (as opposed to only 20-50% possible orally).
With one-third of UK workers experiencing anxiety, depression or stress (according to a PwC survey), it’s not a coincidence there is a growing need for preventative and therapeutic IV vitamin clinics, that help to boost energy levels and stimulate the immune system.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please refrain from using Glutathione or other IV if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an existing heart or kidney condition. We recommend that a certified medical professional does the administration.
